Employing a unique, patented and technologically superior method of silver/ copper ionization to sterilize and protect the potable water distribution systems and holding tanks, helping to remove any existing bacteria and biofilms and preventing possible infection from pathogenic bacteria such as Legionella, E-coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Enterococci.

The use of separate treatment cells, employing separate power supplies, enables ions to be formed without direct complexion, these are continuously measured and controlled by a PLC with an integral data acquisition system, thus providing an audit trail, an invaluable tool in your Fresh Water Safety Plan.

This data can be remotely inspected, verified and the system adjusted, via a GSM or internet link, ensuring your sterilization equipment is always providing you with the highest quality, biologically safe water.

Due to the use of separate copper and silver electrodes, high accuracy flow meters, and patented power control system the Bifipro® is regarded as one of the most advanced copper silver ionization system available.

These benefits combine to enable accurate dosing of copper and silver ions according to flow rate and water quality, ensuring that scaling on the electrodes is minimized thereby extending effectiveness for a longer period.

Parts in contact with water

  • Separate HD PVC ionization chambers for producing copper and silver ions.
  • Loss of pressure per ionization chamber at a flow rate <= 100 l/min is <= 500 mbar.
  • Water conductivity > 20 μS/cm.
  • Precise flow meter (0 – 100 l/min). (linearity < 2% FSR )
  • The Bifipro® must be installed in a bypass (three valves und two T’s) in the existing water pipe directly after the flow meter. The standard connection has a diameter of 2 inch. Adapters to other dimensions of pipes are available.
  • In the Bifipro® System for drinking water applies pure electrode metals silver (99,99 %) copper (99,9 %).
  • The ionization process of each ionization chamber is controlled by a specially designed and high precision current controller. (linearity < 2% FSR). The applied voltage over the pairs of electrodes depends on the electrical conductivity of the water. (12, 24, 36, 48 Vdc).
  • To prevent inaccurate dosage of copper and silver ions the ionization process is stopped at a flow rate < 1 l/min per ionization chamber.
  • The consumption of copper and silver depends on the rate of water flow. At an average flow rate of 8500 m3/year and a standard dosage of (0,4 mg Cu /l and 0,04 mg Ag/l) leads to a consumption of ca. 3400g copper and 340g silver.
  • Total weight pair of copper electrodes (length 40 cm) is ca. 2000g of which ca. 1500g is available for the electrolysis process.
  • Total weight pair of silver electrodes (length 10 cm) is ca. 600 g of which ca. 350g is available for the electrolysis process.
  • Simple to replace electrodes.
  • The components of the Bifipro® are approved for drinking water applications.

Maintenance

The maintenance depends mainly on the flow of water or consumption of copper and silver.

During maintenance the pairs of electrodes are replaced or cleaned and the components of the control unit checked.
